Congratulations to MC women's basketball coach Ron Jones who recorded his 500th collegiate coaching victory in a 65-60 contest with the New Mexico Junior College Lady T-Birds in Hobbs, NM, during the 2011 WJCAC Preconference Tournament.
Jones, who began his college coaching career at Western Texas College in Snyder, opened this season with a 491-138 record. The 2011-12 season marks his 20th as a college coach (two seasons at Western Texas College and 18 at Midland College).
Jones, the all-time winningest basketball coach at Midland College and the only head coach the Lady Chaps have ever known, currently sits at 506-143 (.780) in his career. He has also amassed an impressive 472-116 (.802) record, in this, his 18th season at Midland College
The MC Chaparral Men's Basketball team returns to their home court Monday, January 30, when they host New Mexico Military Institute at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center.
The MC Lady Chaparral Women's Basketball team returns to their home court Thursday, February 2, when they host Frank Phillips College, 5:45 p.m. at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center.
