Midland College Chaparral Softball Coaches
Head Coach - Amanda Evans
Amanda Evans is now serving as interim Head Coach for the Lady Chaparral Softball program at Midland College. Evans served as an assistant coach at California State University East Bay in Hayward, California where she worked with outfield, hitting, and catching. Before CSUEB, Evans was the assistant at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California from 2010-12. She worked with the pitchers, catchers and infielders.
From 2008-09, Evans was a volunteer assistant coach at Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri.
Evans was a starting catcher for the Division I University of Missouri-Kansas City. She received Honorable Mention All Summit League and All Summit League Academic honors, while serving as team captain in 2009.
Before playing at UMKC, Evans caught for two seasons from 2005-07 at Midland College in Midland, Texas. During her second season, Evans was named to the Region 5 All Star Team, received Honorable Mention recognition and was the recipient of the Fighting Lady Chap Award.
Evans graduated from Rialto High School in 2005, where she was a four-year letterwinner and starter for the softball team. She graduated with honors and had the highest team GPA in 2004-2005
Prior to her four-year playing career at Rialto High School, Evans played ASA Gold Softball for Dynasty Gold from 14&under to 18&under in Riverside California.
Raised in Rialto, Evans earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in History from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2010.
