MIDLAND, TEXAS - The Midland College baseball team was looking for starting pitcher Bo Blessie to help set the tone in a doubleheader against Frank Phillips College on Saturday.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore right-hander and Lee grad certainly lived up to his end of the bargain as he struck out 11 in a 14-4 run-rule victory in the first game at Christensen Stadium. The Chaparrals then won the Western Junior College Athletic Conference opening series (3-1) by coming from behind for a 7-4 victory
