BASEBALL: Chaps split doubleheader at Frank Phillips
The Midland College baseball team split a doubleheader at Frank Phillips College on Thursday, losing the first game 4-3 before bouncing back with a 7-4 victory.

BORGER, TEXAS -The Midland College baseball team split a doubleheader at Frank Phillips College on Thursday, losing the first game 4-3 before bouncing back with a 7-4 victory.
Frank Phillips got all their runs early with two runs in the first and two more in the third. The Plainsmen only had five hits in the game. Luke Young took the loss for MC.
MC (28-15, 15-7 in Western Junior College Athletic Conference) had seven hits but no Chaparral had multiple hits.
The Chaps jumped on FPC (13-26, 6-16) with five runs in the first inning of the second game.
Luke Bumpus was 3-for-5 with an RBI; Rhett Clark was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored; and Chris Garcia had two RBI for the Chaps.
Jarek Wells got the win, while Josh Doelitsch picked up the save after he allowed one run on three hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
The teams will play another doubleheader beginning at noon Friday.
