BASEBALL: Chaps Honor Second-Year Team Members

MIDLAND, TEXAS - The MC baseball team took time to recognize their second-year team members in a short ceremony between their double-header versus Western Texas College on April 29, 2022 in Midland. Due to the COViD-19 pandemic and a contracted playing schedule in 2021 the honorees included both freshmen and sophomores student-athletes. Additionally, student-trainer Grace Williams was recognized along with the Midland College baseball team members.
Student-athletes recognized included: Tyler Wulfert, Jesse Benavidez, Garrett Williams, Ryan Blackwell, Luke Bumpus, Chris Garcia, Caleb Heuertz, Alizaeh Gutierrez, Gibrian Pena, Marshall Ingram, Luis Rodriguez, Jarek Wells, Matthew Sandoval, Roman Thompson, Luke Young, Tate Van Poppel Josh Doelitsch, Derek Klosowski and the aforementioned Grace Williams. A few members of the group can elect to return to MC for the 2022-2023 season because last year did not count against their eligibility.
The MC baseball will conclude the regular season on May 6th and 7th in El Paso versus the El Paso Community College Tejanas. Following the final conference series at El Paso, the Chaparrals are likely to play in the upcoming NJCAA Region 5 Baseball Tournament (May 13-16/17, 2022) at Christensen Stadium in Midland. Christensen Stadium is the home ballpark of the Chaparrals.
