Alvin Community College Dolphins vs Midland College Chaparrals

Season Opener

The MC Chaps baseball team picked up a 6-1 season opening victory versus Alvin Community College.  In what has become a tradition, the Chaparrals and the Dolphins made the trek to the campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio and Roadrunner Field for a three game series.  Game one took place on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. 

The Chaparrals started redshirt sophomore Jacob Kuhn (Farmington, NM) in the game.  The Texas Tech signee picked up the win going 5.0 innings, giving up a mere two hits and striking out eight Alvin batters.  Midland College recorded eight hits, including an impressive three-run homerun by Parker Ibrahimi (Mansfield, TX).  Ibrahimi went 2-5 with three RBI and two runs scored to lead the Chaps at the plate.  Redshirt freshman Josh Wulfert (Farmington, NM) posted two hits on four at-bats with one RBI.  

The Chaparrals and Dolphins are scheduled to play a Sunday double-header beginning at 10:30 am at Roadrunner Field.
