BASKETBALL: Chap and Lady Chap Cage Teams Host MC Tip-Off Classic

Both MC basketball teams will be in action when they host the MC Tip-Off Classic at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center on November 11th-13th.

MIDLAND, TEXAS - Both MC basketball teams will be in action when they host the MC Tip-Off Classic at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center on November 11^th-13^th. The Lady Chaps are coming off a successful start to the season with three wins, on the road, versus Salt Lake Community College and Monroe College (NY) both at the OC Classic and versus Pratt Community College (KS) in Hobbs, NM on Saturday. Likewise for the Chaparrals who demonstrated promise in their first two games this season.

The MC Lady Chaps are currently 3-0 this season headed into the Tip-Off Classic. They are scheduled to play Dodge City CC (KS) on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. and Ranger College (TX) on Friday also at 5:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday's games will be the home opening contests for the Lady Chaps in the 2021-2022 season.

Bella Green is leading MC in scoring thus far into the season with a 15.7 ppg average, followed by Dana Thompson and Makayla Escue who are contributing 11.0 and 10.7 points per game respectively.

The Chaparrals are also off to a good start to the young season after going 2-0 in their opening games at the Chap Center over the weekend. Midland College defeated Loyalty College Prep and Strength N Motion (Prep) showing tremendous effort and unselfishness in both games.

The Chaps are being led by a tandem of strong freshmen; Franklin Agu and Ashraf Tchadouwa. Agu and Tchadouwa are showing "double-double" abilities in the first two college games of their careers. Agu is averaging 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Tchadouwa is contributing 12 points and 9 rebounds for the Chaps.

Midland College is slated to play Taylor Made Prep on Thursday at 7:00 p.m., Sunrise Christian Academy on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Ranger College, Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
