BASKETBALL: Chaps suffer 1st loss to Ranger College

MIDLAND, TEXAS -  Ranger College handed the Midland College men's basketball team its first loss of the season with a 71-59 victory to close out the Midland College Tip-Off Basketball Classic, Saturday at Chaparral Center.

Ranger College's Eli Taylor led all scorers with 20 points, while also leading his team with seven rebounds and four assists.

Devin Avent led the Chaps (4-1) with 14 points, followed by 11 from Christian Villegas and nine from Matteo Tersillo.

The Rangers led 39-22 at halftime.

MC will next face Salt Lake Community College at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the OC Sports Center in Odessa.
