BASKETBALL: Chaps drop second straight at New Mexico JC
The Midland College men’s basketball team dropped its second straight game with a 69-58 loss at New Mexico Junior College on Friday.

HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - The Midland College men's basketball team dropped its second straight game with a 69-58 loss at New Mexico Junior College on Friday.
The game was pushed back a day because of the bad weather.
The Chaparrals (11-13, 4-7 in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference) got off to a slow start as NMJC (14-10, 6-4) jumped out to a 35-20 lead at the half.
MC was held to 39.9% shooting for the game, including 21.7% from 3-point range, and turned the ball over 17 times.
Trent Johnson and Oliver Hayward each had 14 points to lead MC, Jaden Henderson added 10 off the bench and Christian Villegas added 11 rebounds to go with his eight points.
Mouhamed Mbaye led NMJC with a game-high 19 points, while Tommy Chatman added 14.
The Chaps next host Clarendon College at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
