BASKETBALL: Chaps beat Cochise to open Wrangler Shootout

ODESSA, TEXAS - The No. 25-ranked Midland College men's basketball team opened the Wrangler Shootout with an impressive 85-73 victory over No. 23 Cochise College, Friday at the OC Sports Center.
The Chaps (9-0) remained unbeaten in their first season under head coach Tra Arnold.
Five MC players scored in double figures, as Keonte Jones led with 18 points, Christian Villegas followed with 17, Doug Young added 14, Jaden Henderson had 11 and Xavier White scored 10.
Cochise College (2-1) committed 27 turnovers compared to 19 by the Chaps.
MC faces Blinn College at noon Saturday in the Wrangler Shootout.
