BASKETBALL: #23 Chaparrals Travel to #14 Weatherford for Tough Region 5 Matchup
The #23 Midland College Chaparrals will close out the fall semester schedule with one of their toughest contests of the season when they travel to #14 ranked Weatherford College on Thursday evening.

WEATHERFORD. TEXAS - The #23 Midland College Chaparrals will close out the fall semester schedule with one of their toughest contests of the season when they travel to #14 ranked Weatherford College on Thursday evening.
The WC Coyotes are currently 10-1 on the season with wins over Howard College, Western Texas College, Paris College and Clarendon College among others in a very challenging pre-conference schedule. Weatherford College's sole defeat came against Howard College in a 105-97 game at Big Spring.
Midland College enters Thursday's game with a 12-1 overall record including wins versus Pratt Community College, Yavapai College, Ranger College, Cochise College and Blinn College. The Chaps lone defeat came at the hands of Utah State – Eastern on November 20th in Odessa.
The Chaparrals have been besieged by injuries and illnesses having suited out only seven players for their previous game against Strength in Motion Prep on Monday evening in Midland. The Chaps have been led by sophomores Doug Young and Keonte Jones who are averaging 21.2 and 18.4 ppg respectively this season.

Following the trip to Weatherford the Chaps will enjoy a couple weeks of downtime during the semester break. Its expected that several currently unavailable members of the team will be healthy for the start of WJCAC play.
