GOLF - Midland College Chaps Golf Takes Bosque River Invitational Title

The Midland College golf team won its second tournament title of the fall semester in the Bosque River Invitational which was held at the Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco, Texas.

WACO, TEXAS - The Midland College golf team won its second tournament title of the fall semester in the Bosque River Invitational which was held at the Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco, Texas.  Tournament runner-up, McLennan Community College, was the event host team.  

The Chaps won the Andrews Golf Course Collegiate-Am September 11-12, 2021 in Andrews, Texas.  

Coach Walt Williams entered two strong teams in the event with Midland College's "A" team winning with 54-hole title with team scores of 293-287-282--862 (-2) followed by McLennan's "A" 293-295-297--885 (+21) and Midland College's talented "B" squad.  MC "B" recorded scores of 296-297-298--891 (+27). 

The tournament field included:  Blinn College "A", Blinn College "B", Jacksonville College, McLennan Community College "A", McLennan Community College "B", Midland College "A", Midland College "B", New Mexico Junior College "A", New Mexico Junior College "B", University of Houston-Victoria and Weatherford College.  Additionally, there were a number of individual competitors from universities such as Abilene Christian, Baylor and Texas A&M.  

 
Gregor Graham MC "A" was comprised of freshmen Gregor Graham (in photo at right) and Alfie Robinson and sophomores Sanual McKenzie, Angel Guerra and Adam Coull.  Midland College "B" featured sophomores Bladen Samaniego, Aston Castillo and Seth Campbell as well as freshmen Kyle Kistensamy and Lance Salisbury. 

Midland College's Davis Seybert and Richman Houston also competed in the tournament as "individuals" for the Chaparrals.  Individual player scores do not affect team totals, but they are eligible to win individual honors.
