EL PASO, TEXAS - The No. 1-ranked Midland College golf team captured the The Cactus Thaw by six strokes after the final round at Painted Dunes Desert Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Chaparrals finished with a 283-288—571 total, ahead of New Mexico Junior College, which finished with a 577 total. Garden City Community College, host Western New Mexico University and Odessa College each shot 580 to finish tied for third.
MC's Gregor Graham finished third in the medalist standings after shooting 71-68—138, one shot behind NMJC's Matthis Lefevre and Odessa's Sangha Park. Fellow Chap Angel Guerra dropped from the first to a tie for seventh after shooting 68-76—144.
MC next travels Victoria to play in the Jaguars Invitational early next week.
