WACO, TEXAS - The Midland College golf team completed play in the Waco River Classic Tournament at the Bear Creek Golf Club in Waco, TX. Midland College entered two squads in the tournament, MC "Green" and MC "Gold".
The MC Gold team won the event with a 54-hole total of 847 (17 under par) followed by second place New Mexico Junior College and third place Midland College Green. MC Green recorded a three-round score of 865, seven strokes behind NMJC and 18 strokes behind MC Gold.
Midland College Gold was led by freshman Max Cavazos who won the individual medalist Award with scores of 70-70-69—209 (seven under par) in his second-ever college golf Tournament. MC Gold squad mates Kyle Kistensamy and Richman Houston finished in second and third places respectively.
This is the second tournament championship this fall for the Chaparrals in as many events, having previously won the Andrews Country Club Tournament two weeks ago.
