Chaparrals Golf Finishes in 4th Place at NMJC Invitational

After a two week break from tournament play the #1 ranked Midland College Chaparrals golf team returned to competition at the 2024 New Mexico Junior College Invitational in Hobbs.  The Chaparrals were led by sophomore Jack Cubitt's, 36-hole score of 147 at the Rockwind Community Links Golf Course.  The Rockwind course is the site of the 2024 NJCAA Men's Division I National Championships (May 14-17, 2024).  

Midland College finished in fourth place in the event, behind NMJC's A and B teams and behind Western Texas College.  NMJC finished first followed by WTC and NMJC B with team scores of 582, 587, 589 respectively.  Midland College recorded a team score of 591 over two rounds.  

NMJC's Elias Petterson won the individual title followed by teammate Travis Robbie and Western Texas' Brendon Willey.  For the Chaps Cubitt was followed by Thomas Vestergaard and Oscar Holm Bredkjaer who each tied for 7th place with a scores of 147 (+5).
