Chaparrals Linksters Surge Into First Place After Day One in the Waco River Classic
Midland College's "A" team leads the Waco River Classic by 10 strokes after the first 36 holes. MC "B" is currently tied for 9th.

Midland College's "A" team put together two solid rounds on the first day of the Waco River Classic to lead the event by 10 strokes over defending national champion New Mexico Junior College. MC's "B" team currently sits in a tie for 9th place after 36 holes. The tournament, hosted by McLennan Community College, is being played at the Bear Ridge Golf Course in Waco, TX.
MC's "A" team is comprised of freshmen Scott Spark, Bryce Womack, Harrison Sewell, Hunter Welch and sophomore Benjamin Lund-Ravn. Spark, Womack and Sewell lead the squad posting scores of -5, -4 and -3 respectively, good for T-1st, 3rd and T-4th places.
Midland College's "B" team is made up of freshman Reuben Harvey, Max Aalto along with sophomores Trace Roger, Jayton Vaughn and Todd Parker. Midland College's Jacob Cole is playing as an individual in the event. The tournament's final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday, September 17th.
