#1 MC Golf Finishes 3rd in Midwestern State Invite, To Play in NCAA II Battle at Kerrville Event April 7-8

The Midland College Chaparrals golf team found themselves fighting through adversity as they finished in third place in the NCAA Division II hosted by Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. The event was played at the Wichita Falls Country Club. The tournament field included 11 NCAA Division II teams and three NJCAA Division I teams, including Midland College.
Midland College, ranked #1 in the most recent NJCAA Men's Division I national polls, finished in third place behind the host team, Midwestern State and fellow NJCAA member, Odessa College.

MC freshmen Hunter Welch and Scott Spark led the team, both finishing in a tie for 6th place in the individual standings. Midland College freshman Harrison Sewell finished in tie for 9th place followed by Reuben Harvey, tied for 30th. Chaps golfers Benjamin Lund-Ravn and Bryce Womack each finished in 40th place. Lund-Ravn competed as an individual in the event.

The Midland College golf team will return to tournament play when they enter the NCAA II Battle at Riverhill Tournament in Kerrville, TX (April 7-8) to be played at the Riverhill Golf Course. The Chaparrals will look to make a serious run at the tournament title at the Riverhill event.
