#1 MC Chaps Golf Team Battles Back to Finish as Runners-up at NCAA II Kerrville Invitational

The Midland College Chaparrals golf team made a strong recovery in the final round of the 2025 Battle at Riverhill Invitational Tournament which was played at the Riverhill Golf Course in Kerrville, TX. Midland College the nation's top JUCO team, joined ten NCAA Division II teams along with fellow NJCAA members, Odessa College and New Mexico Junior College in the 13 team field.
After the first day of competition the Chaparrals sat in sixth place with the local favorite St. Mary's University leading the event. The Chaps mounted a comeback in the final 18 holes of the 54 hole tournament to land in a tie for second place with WJCAC rival Odessa College.
Midland College freshmen Hunter Welch and Reuben Harvey led the Chaparrals, with each finishing in a tie for fifth place in the individual standings. Freshman Harrison Sewell finished in a tie for 23rd, followed by Scott Spark (T-36th), Bryce Womack (T-42nd) and Benjamin Lund-Ravn (T-52nd).
The Chaparrals posted scores of 291-290-289--870 (+6).
