SOFTBALL: Lady Chaps sweep WTC in doubleheader
The Midland College softball team bounced back on Saturday with a pair of wins at Western Texas College.

SNYDER, TEXAS - The Midland College softball team bounced back on Saturday with a pair of wins at Western Texas College.
The Lady Chaparrals came back to defeat WTC, 9-4, in the first game, before Emily Maddux pitched a one-hit shutout in a 9-0 victory in the second game.
MC was coming off two losses at nationally-ranked Howard College the day before.
In the first game, MC battled back from an early 2-0 deficit with five runs in the third inning. The Lady Chaps later added a three-run sixth to put the game away.
Gisselle Dominguez had two hits for MC, while Cierra Avila, Tajanae Davis and Aliyah Lara each had two RBI. Aaliyah Hunter added three runs scored, while Avila also scored two runs.
Marlee Moala got the win in relief.
Maddux allowed just the one hit with three walks and four strikeouts in the second game.
MC had a 3-0 lead until the seventh when the Lady Chaps scored six runs.
Avila was 3-for-4 with a double; Moala was 2-for-4 with a double, home run, three RBI and two runs scored; Dominguez was 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored; and Mackenzie Whiteley was 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored for MC.
