SOFTBALL: Lady Chaps Return to Action Wednesday, Saturday
After going 3-1 over the weekend in a series with Coastal Bend College, the MC softball team will square off against Ranger College at Lady Chaps Field on Wednesday, February 16th at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

MIDLAND, TEXAS - After going 3-1 over the weekend in a series with Coastal Bend College, the MC softball team will square off against Ranger College at Lady Chaps Field on Wednesday, February 16th at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The Lady Chaps softball team (9-3) enters the double-header versus the Ranger College Lady Rangers (1-9) riding their offensive firepower. MC has recorded 21 homeruns in 12 games this season, including 12 in the series against CBC. Midland College is led by freshmen Zoey De Baca and Lauren De La Cruz with batting averages of .565 and .488 respectively. Ciera Avila .405 and Tajanae Davis .395 are pacing the team at the plate.
Emily Maddux and De Baca lead the pitching staff in the early part of the 2022 season. Maddux, a sophomore, is 4-1 (3.41 ERA) while De Baca is 3-1 (3.45 ERA).

Saturday the softball team is scheduled to play against Trinidad State College (CO), also at Lady Chaps Field with games at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The TSC Trojans are 4-3 in 2022 and will play WJCAC rival Odessa College in Odessa on Friday before moving to Midland on Saturday.
