SOFTBALL: Lady Chaps suffer two heartbreaking losses to Concordia

AUSTIN, TEXAS - The Midland College softball suffered two walk-off losses to Concordia University on Wednesday night.
Concordia scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh in the first game for a 6-5 win and then got the winning run in the bottom of the 10th for a 4-3 win in the second game.
In the first game, Concordia out-hit MC 14-5 but needed a one-out double in the bottom of the seventh to bring home the winning run.
The Lady Chaps had taken a 5-2 lead in the top of the fifth before Concordia scored three runs in the bottom of the third to tie it up.
Tajanae Davis led the MC offense by going 2-for-3 with a double, home run, four RBI and two runs scored. Isabella Slape added two hits and a double.
Zoey De Baca took the loss in relief.
Concordia again got a one-out RBI double to score the winning run in the second game.
MC (15-5) had a 3-2 lead after six innings before Concordia scored a run in the bottom of the seventh tie it.
Aaliyah Hunter and Gisselle Dominguez had two hits, while Davis added a double for MC.
Emily Maddux took the loss as she allowed four runs (two earned) on nine hits with one walk and 13 strikeouts over 9 1/3 innings.
The Lady Chaps next play a doubleheader at Kilgore College at 11 a.m. Friday.
