Midland College Softball Seeks to Improve on 6-1 start, Hosts Trinidad State and Coastal Bend

The Midland College softball team has jumped out to a strong start after sweeping Ranger and Luna Community Colleges over the weekend at Lady Chaps Field. Midland College is scheduled to host four games in Midland on Friday, February 9th and Saturday, February 10th.
On Friday, February 9th the Lady Chaps will take on Trinidad State College (CO) in an 11:00 a.m. single game. Following the Lady Chaps vs. Trinidad State game, Trinidad State will play Coastal Bend College beginning at 1:00 p.m. Then the Lady Chaps return to the field when they play Coastal Bend College in a 3:00 p.m. game. Saturday, February 10th Midland College will play a double-header versus the Coastal Bend College Cougars with the first pitch scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
Over the weekend Midland College recorded wins over Ranger College by scores of 9-0 and 21-8 followed by Sunday's double-header win against Luna Community College (NM); 10-9 and 8-0. The Lady Chaps are currently 6-1 this season heading into the weekend.
Midland College freshmen, Jayci Johnson and Marina Litterio, lead the team in batting average each at .364 after seven games.
There is no admission charge to attend Midland College softball games.
