MC Softball Takes Two from Cisco College, Improve to 17-4
Lady Chaps get game one walk-off win, pull off triple play in game two win. Move to 17-4 on the season.

After a two week layoff the Lady Chaps softball team returned to the field in a double-dip versus Cisco College. Midland College managed to shake off any rust in securing to important wins over the Lady Wranglers and in the process, improved to 17-4 overall.
In game one the Lady Chaps entered the bottom of the 7th, tied at 5-5 until freshman infielder Emily Mayo smoked a two-run homerun for a walk-off win (7-5). Katelynn Perez went 4-4 from the plate with two RBI. Marina Litterio was 2-2 in the contest, with one RBI. MC's Emma Lovato picked up the complete game victory, recording nine strikeouts.
Game two saw the Lady Chaps in control from the outset, led by Litterio's 3-4 at-bat (including a HR) with three RBI. Marissa Espinosa also went 3-4 at the plate with three RBI. Espinosa also hit a homer in the game for Midland College. Perez picked up the win going 5.1 IP in relief of game two starter Jalyn Montes.
Game Note: In the top of the 5th inning of game #2, Midland College pulled off a "triple play". With Cisco College's Julia Saucedo at the plate and runners at first and second, Saucedo lined out to secondbase (out #1), Marissa Espinoza, who then stepped on second base to double off the baseruner at second (out #2), then Espinoza threw over to Madyson Bradley who caught the Cisco baserunner as she tried to get back to first base (out #3).
Midland College will next be in action on Thursday, March 7th in a 1:00 p.m. double-header against the Wayland Baptist University Pioneers in Plainview.
