The Midland College softball team will focus on the task at hand in their final conference series of the season. Midland College will host El Paso Community College in a four game series (two double-headers) beginning on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Lady Chaps Field. Midland College is 41-10 this season and 16-4 in conference headed into the weekend's games. El Paso Community College is currently 12-29 overall, including 5-15 in the WJCAC.
On Friday, May 3rd El Paso CC and Midland College will play a double-header beginning at 1:00 p.m. Saturday the Tejanas and the Lady Chaps will play their second double-header with an 11:00 a.m. first pitch. All four games will be played at Lady Chaps Field on the Midland College campus.
Following Saturday's double-header we will be honoring our five graduating sophomore team members in a brief ceremony. Those team members are: Jordyn Westenskow (Austin, TX), Azalea Ramos (San Antonio, TX), Clarissa Estrada (Uvalde, TX), Madison Stewart (Lubbock, TX) and Lauren Lopez (San Antonio, TX).
NJCAA Region 5 West Tournament Information:
Midland College has secured a post-season berth, and the #2 seed, in the upcoming NJCAA Region 5 West Tournament. Odessa College is locked in as the #1 seed. Six WJCAC teams qualify for the Region 5 West Tournament with the top two seeds each receiving first round bye. With one weekend left to play, the six qualifiers are set with: Odessa College, Midland College, Howard College, Frank Phillips College, Western Texas College and El Paso Community College as the contending teams. Clarendon College has been virtually eliminated from the post-season.

The Region 5 West Tournament will be played at Maner Park at Lubbock Christian University (May 9-11). Midland College's first game is scheduled for Thursday, May 9th @ 8:00 p.m. versus the winner of the game between the #3 and 6 seed (to be played at 3:00 p.m. on May 9th).
