The Midland College Lady Chaps will look to extend their current winning ways when they host Ranger College in a Wednesday afternoon double-dip at Lady Chaps Field. The action will begin with a 1:00 p.m. first pitch. Game two of the day's action, will begin approximately 20 minutes following the conclusion of game one.
Midland College enters the twinbill with a 6-4 overall record. That includes winning five of their last six games. The Lady Chaps previously defeated the Rangers on January 28th at Ranger College, by scores of 11-4 and 9-1. MC has settled into a better offensive rhythm led by sophomores Erikha Subia, Madyson Bradley, Jayln Montes and Jayci Johnson. Freshman outfielder Brianna Flores is hitting .440 thus far into her collegiate career to lead the freshman class.
Defensively MC will rely on a solid group of returnees who saw a considerable amount of playing time in 2024. Bradley, Subia, Montes and Johnson make up the infield. The Lady Chaps outfield features several contributors, including Flores, Katelynn Perez, Lorena Gamez, Angelina Lara, Abigail Covarrubias and Anissa Rodriguez. The MC catcher position is anchored by Marina Litterio and Maycee Wilson. Perez is the current "ace" among the pitching staff.
The Lady Chaps will benefit from home cooking and playing at the cozy confines of Lady Chaps Field, when they host Ranger College, Tyler Junior College, Cisco College and Coastal Bend College from February 12th through February 22nd.
