MC Softball Extends Current Win Streak to Eight Games, Sweeping Tyler JC and Cisco JC at Lady Chaps Field

The Midland College softball team are putting the pieces together as they win their eighth consecutive game

MC's Katelynn Perez has recorded a 3-1 record in five starts. She has also thrown two complete games this season with a 1.70 ERA.

The Midland College Lady Chaps, winners of their last eight games, will look to continue their recent successes when they host Coastal Bend College in a three-game series at Lady Chaps Field. Midland College 12-4 on the season have won 11 of their last 12 games to improve their season record to 12-4.

The Lady Chaps most recently hosted Tyler Junior College for a Friday double-header on February 16th followed by two games versus Cisco College on Monday, February 17th at Lady Chaps Field. Midland College defeated Tyler JC by scores of 3-2 and 6-3, then took both versus Cisco with scores of 13-5 and 13-1.

Midland College's Erikha Ibarra continues to set the tone for the team with an impressive .510 batting average and an OBP of .579 from the lead-off spot. Outfielder Anissa Rodriguez is hitting .467 over nine games followed by Marissa Espinoza's .458 and Jalyn Montes' .438 batting averages.

MC freshman Marie Rondeau and sophomore Katelynn Perez anchor the pitching rotation with Rondeau's 5-1 record leading the way. Perez is 3-1 this season.

Midland College is scheduled to play a three-game series versus Coastal Bend College beginning on Friday, February 21st @ 3:00 p.m. (single game). MC and CBC will play an 11:00 a.m. double-header on Saturday, February 22nd. All three games to be played at Lady Chaps Field.
