Midland College Softball Takes Two from Otero College, Extends Win Streak to 15 Games

The Lady Chaps softball team improved to 19-4 this season after a double-header sweep of visiting Otero College of LaJunta, CO. Midland College took game one by a score of 8-2, with sophomore Madyson Bradley leading the way. Bradley an infielder/DP from Pearsall, TX smacked two homeruns off Otero College pitchers driving in four runs in the process. MC's Katelynn Perez picked up the win to improve to 6-1 on the season. Perez threw a complete game, her fourth of the season, and struck out 12 Otero College Rattlers batters.
In Friday's second game, Midland College pounded Otero pitching to the tune of nine hits, scoring 12 runs in the game. The Rattlers for their part could only manage two hits in the game, a 12-0 5th inning run rule loss to the Lady Chaps. With the win Midland College extended their current win streak to 15 games as they head to central Texas for four games next week. Freshman pitcher Marie Rondeau got the win to improve to 8-1-1 this season.
On Monday the Lady Chaps will take on Concordia University (NCAA III) of Austin, TX for two games. Then on Tuesday MC will play a two games versus NAIA program Huston-Tillotson University (also in Austin).
