Midland College Softball to Face #7 Blinn College, Lamar Community College at Lady Chaps Field
The Midland College Lady Chaps softball team will face their stiffest test of the season in #7 ranked Blinn College.

The Midland College softball team returns to competition after a week off when they host nationally-ranked Blinn College in a Friday double-header at Lady Chap Field. Blinn College comes in with a 10-2 record, with the Lady Chaps currently at 9-1 this season. On Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Midland College will host Lamar Community College of Lamar, CO in a double-header. All four games will be played at Lady Chaps Field on the Midland College campus. Lamar CC who is currently 5-5 this season will play a double-header at Odessa College before heading to Midland on Saturday.
Blinn College is led by strong offensive production with five team members hitting over .400 this season. Buccaneers P/INF Brynn Gallamore is hitting .571 to lead the team. Midland College will counter with four Lady Chaps who are hitting over .400. Sophomore P/OF Anays Perez leads the team with a.471 batting average followed by Alexys Cornejo (.462), Jozanna Montes (.440) and Karissa Garcia (.417). Lubbock, TX native Perez is the Lady Chaps ace with a 5-0 record this season.
Coach Angel Castro has worked to refocus the team, this week, in an effort to have a strong showing in all four of this weekend's games. After Midland College's split with Weatherford College in Weatherford, the Lady Chaps got back to the basics of softball in order to put their best product on the field this weekend.
