The Midland College Lady Chaps open the conference portion of the season schedule when they travel to Snyder for a rare Thursday WJCAC double-header versus the Western Texas College Lady Westerners. Midland College, 20-4 overall this season, and Western Texas 17-13 in 2026, were forced to move Friday's games to Thursday because of expected adverse weather conditions across west Texas on Friday.
The Lady Chaps, picked second in the 2026 WJCAC this season, have been excellent this season including picking up three wins in four games last weekend in Midland. On Friday, MC took on El Paso CC in a double-header. Midland won both games over the Tejanas with scores of 20-2 and 10-1. Saturday MC played two games against Frank Phillips College. The two teams split their two games with MC picking up 22-0 win in game one and suffering a 4-2 loss to the FPC Plainsmen. The EPCC and FPC games were counted in the regular season standings but are not considered to be WJCAC games.
Midland College has been impressive this season from the plate with four team members hitting over .450. Sophomore Adelina Noriega leads the Lady Chaps with a .579 batting average, followed by Jozanna Montes, Alexys Cornejo and Mia Garcia who have posted hitting percentages of .483, .483 and .450 respectively.
Thursday the Lady Chaps will play two in Snyder. The Lady Chaps and Lady Westerners will move the series to Midland and to Lady Chaps Field.
