Lady Chaps Take Down EPCC on Sophomore Weekend, Plays at Clarendon in Regular Season Finale Series

The Midland College softball team improved to 38-8 this season and 16-4 in conference after last weekend's four-game series sweep versus El Paso Community College. The series was played on Thursday and Saturday, due to rainy weather in Midland on Friday. EPCC dropped to 9-35 and 6-14.
Midland College also recognized their departing sophomores in a post-game ceremony on Saturday afternoon. Lady Chaps sophomores included: Mia Rodriguez (Weslaco, TX), Maycee Wilson (Clyde, TX), Marie Rondeau (St-Lazare, QC, Canada), Karissa Garcia (Hobbs, NM), Galilea Gomez-Agular (Pecos, TX), Brianna Flores (San Antonio, TX), Anays Perez (Lubbock, TX), Emma Davis (Shallowater, TX) and Adelina Noriega (Tucson, AZ).
MC will play their final regular season games on Thursday and Friday when they take on Clarendon College in Clarendon. Clarendon College is currently 7-49 this season, including a 3-17 record in the WJCAC. The Lady Chaps have qualified for the post-season, however, the location and seeding of their playoff opener has yet to be determined.
The 2026 NJCAA Southwest District (Region 5A and 5B) Tournaments will be played at Temple College (Temple, TX) and Odessa College (Odessa, TX). Southwest District 5A (the Odessa Region) will be comprised of Odessa College (W1), McLennan Community College (N2), along with the third place finisher from the NTJCAC (N3) and the fourth place team from the WJCAC (W4). Southwest District 5B (the Temple Region) will be comprised of Temple College (N1), the second and third place teams from the WJCAC (W2 and W3) and the fourth place team from the NTJCAC (N4).
The Odessa Region and Temple Region qualifiers will compete in two four-team, double-elimination tournaments on May 13-15, 2026. The two winning teams will automatically advance to the 2026 NJCAA Division I Softball National Tournament May 25-30, 2026 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, AL.
