BASKETBALL: No. 16 Lady Chap beat FPC to bounce back
The No. 16-ranked Midland College women’s basketball team got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon with a 69-49 victory over Frank Phillips College at Chaparral Center.

MIDLAND, TEXAS – The No. 16-ranked Midland College women's basketball team got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon with a 69-49 victory over Frank Phillips College at Chaparral Center.
MC (11-3, 11-3 in Western Junior College Athletic Conference) was coming off a loss at South Plains College on Thursday and the win on Saturday kept the Lady Chaparrals a game back of the Lady Texans in the league standings with one game left in their regular season.
Nya Lok led MC with 18 points, Brooke Galvin had 12 and Dana Thompson added 13 rebounds in the win.
Frank Phillips (4-13, 0-13) was led by Aubry Johnson with a game-high 20 points, 16 of which coming at the free-throw line.
MC will close out the regular season at 5:45 p.m. Monday with a home game against Clarendon College.
