MIDLAND, TEXAS - After leading by as many as 14 points the Lady Chaps successfully fought off a late charge by the Dodge City Community College (KS) Conqs on Thursday night at the Chaparral Center. The game was the first home appearance for Midland College this season while improving their season record to 4-0 with a 64-57 win versus DCCC.
Midland College was led by sophomore Makayla Escue who recorded 19 points and four rebounds in the contest. The Lady Chaps received solid contributions by fellow sophomores Bella Green with 14 points and 14 rebounds and Dana Thompson's nine point, eight rebound night.
MC returns to the Chap Center hardwood on Friday at 5:00 p.m. versus NJCAA Region 5 member, Ranger College. Ranger College lost a tough contest with Western Texas College in overtime, 71-66, in Thursday's first game of the MC Tip-Off Classic.
