BASKETBALL: Weatherford College shoots its way past Lady Chaps

MIDLAND, TEXAS - The Midland College women's basketball team closed out the Women's National Invitation Tournament at Chaparral Center on Saturday with a 93-69 loss to Weatherford College.

Weatherford (5-2) shot 58.7% for the game and hit 11 3-pointers.

MC was held to 38.3% shooting ans turned the ball over 27 times.

Jasmyne Robinson led Weatherford with a game-high 26 points with eight 3-pointers, and Diamond Sweats had 21.

Marin Lenz led four Lady Chaparrals in double figures with 16 points, Teanna Huggins and Bella Green each had 12 and Kim Schrama added 11.

MC next opens Western Junior College Athletic Conference play at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 1 against Howard College.
