BASKETBALL: Lady Chaps fall at Frank Phillips

BORGER, TEXAS - The Midland College women's basketball team got held to single digits in the first and fourth quarters in a 55-47 loss at Frank Phillips College on Saturday.

Frank Phillips (8-4, 1-0 in Western Junior College Athletic Conference) jumped out to a 15-8 lead in the first quarter and had a 28-23 lead at the half. MC (7-3, 1-1) then jumped out in front, 41-39, after the third quarter but a 16-6 run by the Lady Plainsmen in the final period sealed the win.

The Lady Chaparrals were led by Bella Green with 14 points and Makayla Escue with 12.

MC next travels to face Weatherford College at 4 p.m. Friday.
