CLARENDON, TEXAS - Bella Green had a double-double to lead the Midland College women's basketball team to an impressive 94-69 victory at Clarendon College on Saturday afternoon.
Green finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while teammate Dana Thompson almost had a double-double herself with 20 points and nine boards for the Lady Chaparrals (12-4, 3-1 in Western Junior College Athletic Conference).
The Lady Chaps led 39-32 at the half, then pulled away in the second half.
Makayla Escue added 14 points and Marin Lenz added 10 for MC.
Clarendon (17-2, 2-1), which suffered its first league loss, was led by Autumn Wadsworth with a game-high 25 points, Mah Minthe had 16 and Mariam Traore added 11.
The Lady Chaps return home at 5:45 p.m. Monday to take on Western Texas College.

MEN: CHAPS LOSE FIFTH STRAIGHT
CLARENDON, TEXAS – The Midland College men's basketball team lost its fifth straight game after dropping a 99-54 decision at Clarendon College on Saturday.
Midland College fell to 9-8 overall 2-2 in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference and was led by Steven Richardson with 23 points. Trent Johnson added nine for the Chaps, who had 26 turnovers and were just 3 of 25 from 3-point range.
Clarendon (5-12, 1-3) shot 52% from 3-point range and had a 46-28 halftime advantage.
Garren Davis led four Bulldogs in double figures with 20 points, Zarique Nutter had 18, and Omar Cooper and Norman Beckmond each had 10.
The Chaparrals next host Western Texas College at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
