MIDLAND. TEXAS - The Midland College basketball team played their best basketball of the season in sweeping two games at the Lady Chaps Classic. Midland College had a nearly two week break from competition and used the time to improve in key areas of the game.
Midland College 3-7 on the season defeated Lamar Community College 58-47 on Friday and were an offensive juggernaut in Saturday's game versus Jacksonville College. MC pounded Jacksonville to the tune of 90-45. MC's 90 point output was 42 points above their season average and 40 points more than they scored in the season opening loss to Jacksonville at Jacksonville, Texas, a 57-50 loss, only a month earlier on November 3rd.
In the game versus Lamar CC the Lady Chaps showed positives throughout the game but the team also demonstrated a bit of expected sluggishness after a 13-day break from game action.
