BASKETBALL: Midland College Hoops Take Twinbill Versus Howard Hawks
The Midland College Lady Chaps continued their current conference win streak (three consecutive) versus the visiting Howard College Lady Hawks. Midland College improved to 10-11 overall and 5-2 in the WJCAC in a 62-55 victory over Howard. In the evening’s second game Midland College Chaparrals seized early control in route to a 95-41 blowout versus the Howard College men on Midland College Domestic Violence Awareness Night at the Chaparral Center.

MIDLAND, TEXAS - The Midland College Lady Chaps continued their current conference win streak (three consecutive) versus the visiting Howard College Lady Hawks. Midland College improved to 10-11 overall and 5-2 in the WJCAC in a 62-55 victory over Howard.
MC was led by sophomore Nikki Sainsbury's 12 points in a balanced offensive display by the Lady Chaps. Freshman Janay Quinn and fellow soph Safena Williams each chipped in with nine points in the contest.

In the evening's second game Midland College Chaparrals seized early control in route to a 95-41 blowout versus the Howard College men on Midland College Domestic Violence Awareness Night at the Chaparral Center.
MC's Doug Young led the offensive attack for the Chaps with a 19-point outburst in the first half in what could only be described as a shooting exhibition. Young led all scorers with 26 points followed by 13-points each by MC's Keonte Jones and Trent Johnson. Midland College shot a blistering 52.6% from the three-point line and 65.6% from the floor to improve to 18-4 on the season and 4-4 in conference.

Both MC basketball teams return to action on Saturday, February 4th at Levelland versus South Plains College. The games were rescheduled after icy and cold weather conditions forced league wide postponements on Monday (January 30th) due to hazardous travel conditions.
The Lady Chaps and Lady Texans are scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start with the Chaps and Texans slated for a 4:00 p.m. opening tip.
