LEVELLAND. TEXAS - After recording three consecutive conference wins the Midland College basketball team appeared to be gelling after stumbling out of the gate to begin the season. Saturday's game at first place South Plains College created a setback in the Lady Chaps recent on-court successes. The South Plains College Lady Texans defeated Midland College in a very low scoring game, 57-41, at the Texan Dome on the SPC campus. The game was originally scheduled to be played on Monday, January 30th but icy streets forced the teams to reschedule.
Statistically neither team played well with Midland College shooting 28.3% from the floor, 30.8% from the three-point line and 50% from the charity stripe compared to South Plains' 28.8 FG%, 26.7 3FG% and 53.8 FT% in the contest. SPC's assist to turnover ratio spelled the difference in the game. The Lady Texans recorded a 15:9 a/to ratio while Midland College posted only six assists to 20 turnovers.
Midland College's Luisa Anderegg led all players with 22 points. No other MC player cracked double digits in scoring.

Due to the Monday's game postponement Midland College will have to play their third of three games in the span of five days. The Lady Chaps travel to Borger, Texas for a conference tilt against Frank Phillips College. Midland College hope to shake off Saturday's loss and to return to the win column versus the Lady Plainsmen.
Go Lady Chaps!
