Lady Chaps Hoops Take Two at the South Plains Texan Classic, Improves to 9-4 at the Break
Midland College defeated Otero Junior College (CO) and Cochise College (AZ) in Levelland to end the semester on a win streak.

The Midland College Lady Chaps ended the pre-conference section of their schedule with two wins at the South Plains College Texan Classic in Levelland. Midland College defeated Otero Junior College 67-60 with a balanced scoring attack led by sophomore guard, Diana Szakolczi who posted 17 points and two rebounds in the contest. Fellow MC sophomores Sumayia Ibrahim and Latisha Wilson contributed 14 and 13 points respectively. Freshman point guard Sarah Gregory was outstanding, recording 11 points, six rebounds and three assists versus the OJC Rattlers.
In the final game of the fall semester Midland College pulled out a narrow victory versus Cochise College of Arizona. Final score 61-58. Once again Szakolczi led the team with a 15 point and eight rebound performance. Wilson chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds versus the Apaches.
The wins improved the Lady Chaps season record to 9-4 headed into the semester break. MC will return to action on January 2nd and 3rd at the Evelyn Blalock Classic in Kilgore. Midland College will take on Panola College on Friday, January 2nd @ 1:00 p.m. On Saturday, January 3rd @ 1:00 p.m. MC will play the host team, Kilgore College. These games will serve as a tune-up to the start of the 2026 WJCAC schedule.
