VOLLEYBALL: Lady Chaps Look to Return to Winning Ways at Odessa, Clarendon
The Lady Chaps volleyball team will get back to work and hopefully to their winning ways with two pivotal road matches at Odessa College and Clarendon College.

MIDLAND. TEXAS - The Lady Chaps volleyball team will get back to work and hopefully to their winning ways with two pivotal road matches at Odessa College and Clarendon College.
On Wednesday, the Chaparrals will take on a strong Odessa College Wranglers team in Odessa. That match is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. first serve. Then on Saturday, October 9th the team will make the trek to Clarendon, Texas for a match with the Bulldogs. The Clarendon match marks the beginning of the second half of the WJCAC slate of matches.
Midland College is currently tied for first place in conference with the New Mexico Military Institute. NMMI, ranked 11th nationally, snapped Midland College's six-match win streak in a well-played four game contest on Saturday at the Chap Center.
The Lady Chaps will ride the arms of sophomores Karina Salinas, Lucie Maceckova and Macarena Flores. Salinas leads the team with 185 total kills, followed by Maceckova and Flores with 166 and 103 total kills respectively. Defensively Midland College is led by Emily Nanez and Salinas. Nanez has recorded 139 digs this season, with Salinas chipping in with 126 digs.

Midland College's Romina Vacca and Julia Kabala lead the team in total assists. Vacca is the team's leader in assists with 296, while Kabala has recorded 251 thus far into the 2021 season.
Fans are encouraged to travel to Odessa for the match as it promises to be a high intensity affair with conference pride on the line.
