ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO - New Mexico Military Institute clinched the Western Junior College Athletic Conference volleyball title on Wednesday with a 25-14, 25-21, 25-18 win over Midland College at the Godfrey Athletic Center.
Midland College (16-7, 8-3) can still get the No. 2 seed for next week's NJCAA Region V West Tournament with a win over Odessa College at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chaparral Center in the regular season finale. OC won the first meeting earlier this season in Odessa in five sets and is coming off a three-set win at Clarendon College on Wednesday.
NMMI improved to 26-4 overall and 10-1 in the WJCAC.
Macarena Flores led the Lady Chaparrals with nine kills, Karina Salinas had nine digs and Romina Vacca added 14 assists.
