VOLLEYBALL: Lady Chaps Host Rival OC in Important Conference Match

MIDLAND. TEXAS - The Midland College volleyball team will close out the regular season, at home, on Saturday, October 30th in a 2:00 p.m. conference match versus Odessa College. Midland College seeks to clinch a #2 seed in the 2021 NJCAA Region 5 West Tournament (November 5th and 6th) after posting an 8-3 record in the WJCAC. Midland College is 11-4 in their last 15 matches, which includes conference matches, and is hoping to end the regular season on a high note versus the Wranglers.

Coach Tammie Jimenez and assistant Kristina Gafford have set high goals for the team all season and they remain hopeful that the team can put all the pieces together for a Region 5 West Championship and a berth in the 2021 NJCAA Division I Volleyball National Tournament (November 18-20) in Hutchinson, Kansas. Since the 2017 season Jimenez' Lady Chaps have advanced to the Region 5 West championship match, twice (2017 and 2018) and to the semi-final match on two occasions (2019 and 2020). Fans are hoping for another strong post-season showing this year.

Saturday's match will be the final home appearances for five members of the team: Karina Salinas, Lucie Maceckova, Tori Lasley, Macarena Flores and Romina Vacca make up the 2021 sophomore class along with student-trainer, Grace Williams. Lasley suffered a season-ending injury however her leadership has been a vital part of the team's success this season.
