MIDLAND, TEXAS - The Midland College volleyball team will open up Western Junior College Athletic Conference play with a home match against Clarendon College at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The Lady Chaparrals come into the match with a 7-5 overall record after going 3-1 at the New Mexico Junior College Classic over the weekend with the only loss coming against No. 14-ranked Blinn College.
A couple of career milestones were reached on Saturday, as the Lady Chaps gave head coach Tammie Jimenez her 200th career win in a straight-set victory over Tyler Junior College. Also over the weekend, sophomore setter Julia Kabala recorded 105 assists over four matches to top 600 assists in her career.
Other leaders for MC over the weekend were Linda Conceicao with 29 kills and 17 blocks, Miranda Acosta with 54 digs, and Laura Milori with 33 kills and 31 digs.
Clarendon comes in at 2-11 overall.
