Midland College Lady Chaps to Host the 2024 Kick-Off Volleyball Classic (August 22-24)

The Midland College volleyball team will open the 2024 season on Thursday when they open play in the Midland College Kick-Off Volleyball Classic at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center. 

Midland College is being led into the season under the steady hand of first-year head coach Kristina Gafford.  Gafford, a former member of the MC volleyball team, takes over after serving as the assistant coach for six years.  

This year's team has a number of fresh faces with eight freshmen joining the squad.  Freshmen members of the team include:  Eduarda Silva (Brazil), Ksenija Sokic (Serbia), Hailey Reyes (San Antonio, TX), Iasmin Araujo (Brazil), Martina Frangella (Argentina), Ipek Kusoglu (Turkiye), Noa Reculard (France) and Julia Klimowicz (Poland).  The four returnees (Kylee Radwanski, Martyna Lubowicz, Jordan Eager and Amarilis Cortes) will be asked to provide leadership and consistency for their upstart teammates.  

Five quality teams will be joining Midland College in the Classic.  #18 Colby Community College, KS; Lee College, TX; #10 New Mexico Junior College; North Central Texas College and Panola College, TX
