Midland College Volleyball Opens the Season at 2-2 in the Kick-Off Classic
The Midland College volleyball team opened the 2025 season, splitting their four matches at the annual Kick-Off Classic

The 2025 edition of the MC Lady Chaps volleyball team opened the season, hosting the annual Kick-Off Classic. The "Classic" field included #3 ranked Colby Community College, Lee College, New Mexico Junior College, North Central Texas College, North Idaho College and the Lady Chaps. The event featured 12 matches over three days (August 21-23).
Midland College opened the season on Thursday evening versus the North Central Texas College Lions. MC defeated NCTC in four sets, 25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 25-13 led by Martina Frangella who recorded 11 kills and five digs followed by Luisina Sandrone 10 kills, 11 digs and 1.5 blocks. Sophomore setter Jordan Eager posted 20 assists and 10 digs. Freshman setter Mia Bell added 17 assists and seven digs.

The Lady Chaps played two matches on Friday's second day of the Kick-Off Classic, losing to #3 Colby Community College 3-0 and bouncing back to defeat North Idaho College 3-0. MC played a single match in the Classic finale on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. versus Lee College. The match was a back and forth affair with Midland College suffering a tough, five setter to the Navigators.

MC sits at 2-2 on the season headed into the Labor Day weekend's Kruse Kick-Off Classic hosted by Blinn College in Brenham, TX. Midland College will face very stiff competition in the Kruse Classic as the event features several teams, ranked in the NJCAA Preseason polls.
The Lady Chaps are scheduled to face Panola College and #4 Weatherford College on Friday, August 29th and will square off against #10 Trinity Valley Community College and #12 Navarro College on Saturday's final day of play.
