Midland College's Argentine Duo Propels the Lady Chaps to a Sweep of WTC, MC Moves into Post-Season Contention
Midland College made fast work of the WTC Westerners in Saturday afternoon's WJCAC match at the Chaparral Center. Midland College swept the Westerners 3-0 to record their fourth conference win of the season.

The Midland College Lady Chaps moved into a tie for the fourth spot in the WJCAC standings with a 25-17, 25-17, 25-16 (3-0) win versus Western Texas College. With the win the Lady Chaps improved to 12-8 overall, including 4-4 in the WJCAC. Western Texas dropped to 6-19 this season and 0-8 in conference.
MC is currently tied with Amarillo College for the final post-season place. The top four teams in the final WJCAC standings will earn their way into next month's NJCAA Region 5 Volleyball Tournament.

MC's top peformers include sophomore Luisina Sandrone (Cordoba, Argentina) who recorded 20 kills and 10 digs. Fellow sophomore Martina Frangella (Santa Fe, Argentina) chipped in with 11 kills, two digs, one assist and a block assist. Additionally, freshman setter Mia Bell led the team with 21 assists to go along with nine digs and four kills. She was followed by Jordan Eager's 16 assists.
Midland College libero Ksenija Sokic had 10 digs in the contest. Saturday's match marked the return of sophomore middle hitter, Julia Klimowicz who has been out all season due to injury. Klimowicz had five kills versus the Westerners.

The Lady Chaps return to the court as they travel to Odessa for a match-up with #4 Odessa College. The MC at OC match is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15th @ 6:00 p.m. Midland College will play their next-to-last home match of the season on Saturday, October 18th @ 2:00 p.m. when they host Amarillo College in an important WJCAC match.
