The No. 1-ranked Midland College men’s golf team finished in second at the WJCAC Tip-off Tournament at Sweetwater Country Club on Monday.
The No. 1-ranked Midland College men’s golf team has a 10-shot lead after the first 36 holes of the TankLogix Invitational at Ranchland Hills Golf Club.
After a three month break from tournament competition the #1 ranked Midland College golf team will return to play when they tee off in the 2022 Western New Mexico University Cactus Thaw Invitational. The 36-hole event will be played at the Painted Dunes Desert Golf Course in El Paso, TX (Par 72, 6,925 yards).
After a highly impressive fall semester of tournament play the Midland College golf team rose to the top spot in the final NJCAA Men’s Division I poll of the fall semester of 2021. Midland College was second in the NJCAA preseason poll but surpassed defending national champion Hutchinson Community College (KS) in the November 18th poll.
Coach Walt Williams and the NJCAA ranked #2 Midland College golf team will play in its second “match play” event of the fall semester when they travel to Willow Park, Texas for the Squaw Creek Tournament. The Squaw Creek Match Play will pit the #2 ranked Chaparrals in a head-to-head competition versus the #3 ranked McLennan Community College Highlanders.

The Midland College golf team definitely held its own this week against a field of NCAA Division I programs at the Bentwater Intercollegiate.
After winning three tournament championships to start the 2021 school year, the Midland College Chaps travel to Montgomery, Texas this weekend for the Bentwater Intercollegiate. Aside from the NJCAA National Preview Tournament scheduled for early November, this will arguably be the stiffest competition faced by the team in the fall semester of competition.
The Midland College golf team won its second tournament title of the fall semester in the Bosque River Invitational which was held at the Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco, Texas.
